Adorned with a CRUSADERS shield, with the AMERICAN FLAG in the top two sections, these grips embody the AMERICAN spirit! They have traditional stylized checkering with the traditional diamond shaped screw reliefs. They are made from Poplar and (shown) in the Dark Walnut finish, but you may choose from any of the options (Please write me for a picture of ALL the options).
These are finished by first sanding them to a glassy smooth feel, and then coated with 5 coats of lacquer, giving them a lasting and durable finish which is resistant to moisture, oil, and dirt.
They have been test fitted on a Kimber, Colt, and Springfield, so they should fit just about any FULL SIZE 1911, although, due to manufacture differences, a small amount of fitting may be required.
They can also be customized, so if you want to add something (Name, initials, unit, date, quote) just ask. If your 1911 has an ambi-safety, or is a Rock Island, please let me know so I can adjust accordingly! Also, if you want them in a different combination, wood, stained, finish, for a compact 1911, a different firearm altogether, or whatever you'd like, all you have to do is ask, and I can work with you to come up with a custom listing!
You can also now get a matching pocket knife, or fixed blade knife to match your custom RAVENWOODGRIPS gun grips.
Here is the listing for the folding blade pocket knife:

Payment is pretty easy through Etsy, so this is straight forward. If we work together on an idea, I'd be more than happy to create a private listing for you. Custom work, once agreed upon, will require payment before physical work can begin. Most items take about 2 weeks to make, although some of the bigger and more elaborate products can take up to a month. If you are unsure, or want an estimate on production times, send me a message and I can let you know!!!
I ship almost exclusively through USPS, although occasionally use UPS for larger or more delicate items. I always include the insurance on items to make sure that if your item is damaged in transit, we are both covered (since the items offered are one of a kind, and hand made, I don't have the option to just grab another off the shelf to send.)
Also, the cost of shipping and handling of "FREE SHIPPING" items will NOT be refunded in the case of a return. This expense is included into the cost of the item, and, since USPS does not reimburse me if you purchase something, and send it back to me, I do not reimburse the expenses (included into the price of the items with "free shipping") to buyers. If you would like to know exactly what I pay for shipping, in the case of a return, please feel free to ask me.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
These items are all made to order, and details will be worked out exactly before work begins. Once work has begun, changes cannot be made (again, handmade so pretty impossible to un-cut wood). If something is damaged or lost in shipping, that is what the shipping insurance if for. Almost all items are wood, so excessive duress can and will break them. Also, wood has many variations in regards to color, grain, and appearance, so yours will NOT look exactly like examples, however, I will do my best to make them as close as possible. I advise you to treat them as precious custom heirloom quality pieces. If something does happen, I can advise on repairs, but considering the nature of these items, returns, and refunds, for broken items is not possible. If you order something, and it doesn't work, because you didn't read the description (ie. You order full size grips, but you own a compact gun) no returns will be accepted. If you have questions whether something will work, please ask. Custom designed items cannot be canceled or refunded once work has begun.
Most of my items are wood. There are, of course, some variances between different pieces of wood, even within the same board. I will always try my best to make the best looking piece for my customer. Sometimes I will search out a board with almost no grain, or a piece with a lot of grain. I will often design specifically with the grain in mind. That being said, yours will not look exactly like the pictured items. It will however, be amazing. When referencing grips, I will use many terms. Most are industry standard, however, if you are unsure, please feel free to send me a message. For instance, 1911 compact grips are 2 11/16" from the center of the top grip screw to the center of the bottom grip screw, and 1911 full size is 3 1/16" center of screw to center of screw. Ambi is short for ambidextrous safety. Magwell means your gun has a flared magazine well.
Also, if you have a RIA (RockIslandArmory) 1911, please be aware, your chances of needing to do modifications are much higher than if you have any other 1911. RIA is notoriously NOT a mil-spec 1911; they use a lot of non-spec parts, and are very low on quality control/consistency. If you have questions, please let me know.
