Poplar was used to make these Full Size 1911 grips. Engraved with the stylized image of Archangel Michael and Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the armor of God, so that you can stand against the wiles of the devil".
Shown in the picture with the Willow stain, you can choose from any in the list to suit your taste.
They are finished with 4 coats of Tung Oil for great looks and a very durable finish. Truly book matched (panels are from one piece of wood, split in 2 so the grain of both grips are continuous) these grips will add a TON of character to your 1911.
If you would like this style in a different wood, let me know, and we can work out details. Just click the Request a Custom Order button...
Test fit on a Kimber, Springfield, and Colt, they should fit most any 1911, although some small amount of fitting may be necessary.
You can also now get a matching pocket knife, or fixed blade knife to match your custom RAVENWOODGRIPS gun grips.

Payment is pretty easy through Etsy, so this is straight forward. If we work together on an idea, I'd be more than happy to create a private listing for you. Custom work, once agreed upon, will require payment before physical work can begin. Most items take about 2 weeks to make, although some of the bigger and more elaborate products can take up to a month. If you are unsure, or want an estimate on production times, send me a message and I can let you know!!!
I ship almost exclusively through USPS, although occasionally use UPS for larger or more delicate items. I always include the insurance on items to make sure that if your item is damaged in transit, we are both covered (since the items offered are one of a kind, and hand made, I don't have the option to just grab another off the shelf to send.)
Also, the cost of shipping and handling of "FREE SHIPPING" items will NOT be refunded in the case of a return. This expense is included into the cost of the item, and, since USPS does not reimburse me if you purchase something, and send it back to me, I do not reimburse the expenses (included into the price of the items with "free shipping") to buyers. If you would like to know exactly what I pay for shipping, in the case of a return, please feel free to ask me.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
These items are all made to order, and details will be worked out exactly before work begins. Once work has begun, changes cannot be made (again, handmade so pretty impossible to un-cut wood). If something is damaged or lost in shipping, that is what the shipping insurance if for. Almost all items are wood, so excessive duress can and will break them. Also, wood has many variations in regards to color, grain, and appearance, so yours will NOT look exactly like examples, however, I will do my best to make them as close as possible. I advise you to treat them as precious custom heirloom quality pieces. If something does happen, I can advise on repairs, but considering the nature of these items, returns, and refunds, for broken items is not possible. If you order something, and it doesn't work, because you didn't read the description (ie. You order full size grips, but you own a compact gun) no returns will be accepted. If you have questions whether something will work, please ask. Custom designed items cannot be canceled or refunded once work has begun.
Most of my items are wood. There are, of course, some variances between different pieces of wood, even within the same board. I will always try my best to make the best looking piece for my customer. Sometimes I will search out a board with almost no grain, or a piece with a lot of grain. I will often design specifically with the grain in mind. That being said, yours will not look exactly like the pictured items. It will however, be amazing. When referencing grips, I will use many terms. Most are industry standard, however, if you are unsure, please feel free to send me a message. For instance, 1911 compact grips are 2 11/16" from the center of the top grip screw to the center of the bottom grip screw, and 1911 full size is 3 1/16" center of screw to center of screw. Ambi is short for ambidextrous safety. Magwell means your gun has a flared magazine well.
Also, if you have a RIA (RockIslandArmory) 1911, please be aware, your chances of needing to do modifications are much higher than if you have any other 1911. RIA is notoriously NOT a mil-spec 1911; they use a lot of non-spec parts, and are very low on quality control/consistency. If you have questions, please let me know.

I am so very impressed with the craftsmanship of the handle grips. My grandson was named Gabriel Michael after both angels so when he found these I had to order them for his birthday. They came in a small hand made wood gift box that was also very awesome. Thank you very much.

The quality of your grips are next level, I am so very pleased with the way it looks on my (Kimber custom II) Very high end look and the finish makes gripping it feel super secure. Incredible craftsmanship and came faster than expected. Even arrived in a nice balsa wood box. If I ever need another set of grips, I’ll definitely be coming back.
